A Little Update from Our Nest: Growing, Connecting & Celebrating Together
At Happy Baby Social Nest, we believe the little moments make a big difference. From watching children discover something new to seeing parents connect with their village, these are the moments that remind us why we started.
Since launching HBSN in June 2022, we’ve had the joy of serving more than 500 families and bringing purposeful, play-based learning to communities throughout Ventura County. We have a few exciting updates to share!
Raechel Joins the Board of Directors at CDR of Ventura County
I am beyond excited to share that I have accepted a seat on the Board of Directors for Child Development Resources (CDR) of Ventura County!
Supporting children and families has always been at the heart of our work. This opportunity allows me to bring my experience in early childhood enrichment and family engagement into broader conversations about early learning, family support, and opportunities for young children throughout Ventura County.
I am looking forward to the opportunity to contribute to this important work and look forward to what’s ahead!

Another exciting milestone was sharing the story behind Happy Baby Social Nest through my feature on CanvasRebel!
HBSN began with a simple goal: to create accessible, inclusive opportunities for young children to socialize, explore, and learn alongside their caregivers. What started as a need we experienced as parents has grown into a community built around purposeful play and meaningful connection.
We’re proud of how far we’ve come and incredibly thankful to every family, school, and community partner who has been part of our journey.
Looking Back on Our Mama and Kiddo Reset
At the end of September, we gathered in Ventura for our Mama and Kiddo Reset!
Parenting little ones is rewarding, but we know it can also be exhausting. We wanted to create a morning where Mamas could slow down, connect with each other, and enjoy intentional time with their kiddos.
From purposeful play and outdoor exploration to our DIY paper flower bar, the morning was filled with creativity, connection, and sweet memories.
A heartfelt thank-you to Saint James Ice Tea, Amara Organics, Tubby Todd, That’s it., and Beekeeper’s Naturals for their generous product donations and support. A special thank-you to Morgan from Photo.Isle for capturing those adorable moments between our mamas and kiddos!

Why We Believe in Purposeful Play
Play is about so much more than keeping little ones entertained. It's how children explore their world, build relationships, and develop foundational skills.
Our classes are thoughtfully designed to support the whole child through hands-on activities, sensory exploration, music, movement, and social connection. Along the way, children have opportunities to develop:
Cognitive skills, curiosity, and problem-solving
Language and communication
Social-emotional skills and confidence
Fine and gross motor development
Foundational skills for preschool and TK readiness
We also share practical ideas families can use at home because learning doesn't stop when class ends. Even everyday moments can become opportunities to explore, connect, and grow.
